Was on the road at 6:30 a.m. and had to slow down for some kudu and Springbok and 2 Orynx crossing the road. Was a 100 km dirt road to the B4 which is the tar road to Luderitz on the coast. Stop in Aus for a great cup of coffee and a rusk. Got to Luderitz at noon. Not much there. When to Diaz Point and then of roadto the ghost town. The wind coming in was howling and sand blowing heavily on the road. From Aus its 110 kilometres to Luderitz just deserts and mountains. Quite unique and colourful with the Wild Horses roaming freely. Checking in at Aus for the campsite( R120) the guy behind me seyes my name and asks me if I know Peter Whitworth .Unfortunately I had to cotton it is was his younger brother. He knows him from high school. So we visit at the campsite and he was in his Pajero 4 x 4 but also had a KTM 950 so he was a wealth of info and really interesting guy. Tomorrow will head to Solitaire with Keith. Dirt road all the way. What kinda nice to be on a tar road for a change, not having to look for sand patches and Rocks. I pitch my tent which was great I looked up and was under huge, I mean huse birds nest Social Weaver which has hundreds of birdsin. No big deal. Well this shat all over my tent and had to move it and clean all the crap off. Super nice campsite with great ablutions. Had my first dehydrated meal, was delightful!!!
